Lost Something in Korea?

1. Retrace quickly

  • Subway: contact the lost & found center of the line you rode.
  • Taxi: if you paid by card or app, the receipt or app history can identify the taxi.
  • Shop / café: call or go back — many places keep items for a while.

2. Check the national lost & found portal

Korea's police run LOST112 (lost112.go.kr), where found items handed to police and many transit operators are registered. You can search by date, place and item type.

3. Report to the police

Visit the nearest police station or police box (jigudae / pachulso). Bring ID if you still have it. A written report helps for insurance claims.

4. Lost passport

Contact your country's embassy or consulate in Seoul to get an emergency travel document. A police report is usually requested.
